The hawk
so high

floating with such unaccomplished perfection

It’s obvious to me now
So obvious

Like a koan epiphany
floating high on the dismal breeze
it’s so obvious

  1. My favorite hawks were the small reddish brown ones I flew with over central Florida back in my sailplane days. The little guys could pick the dead center of the thermal and seemed like they laughed as they rose through my less than perfect circles. I guess if we had to come back in another life as an animal I would pick being one of those superb flyers. It’s just getting past having to eat raw mice that gives pause.
