Putting the Alt in Alternative…

media

So, you’re probably familiar with the DRUDGE REPORT…

But are you familiar with the DRUDGE RETORT?

The reason I post this alternative to what has become the main alt-right news aggregator is because I saw a video on facebook of an interview with Denzel Washington where he drops this very catchy quote:

“If you don’t follow the news you’re uninformed. And if you do follow the news you’re misinformed…”

Or something to that effect.

But I don’t agree with it.

Or at least I don’t agree with it in the sense that the “Corporate Media” or “New Media” or the “Four-Hundred-Pound* Guy In New Jersey Media” is either, intentionally or not, informing us with lies or informing us with errors or informing us with whatever it is they are or are not informing us with, thereby allowing us to blame them for being misinformed.

Again, I don’t agree with it.

Because nobody but I am responsible for the conclusions I draw from the information I consume in order for me to be, or at least feel as if I am being, informed.

It is my choice and responsibility to be informed.

It is not anyone or anything else’s responsibility to inform me.

It really makes me the opposite of happy whenever I hear someone griping about and/or blaming the media for so many of our problems.

Malarkey.

You and I are the only ones to blame.

Anyway…

Speaking of Alternatives, for all you Alt-Right, Alt-Left, and even Alt-Middle preppers out there looking to stay informed, I created this. In all honesty, it started out as a tongue-in-cheek way to exploit all the nutjob goofiness out there but then I kind of got into it and then I kind of got out of it. I need to update it with new RSS feeds to track the Doom of Trump.

*I notice “the media” is mostly choosing to incorrectly quote Trump by not including the guy in New Jersey’s weight.

  1. when my kids ask me for my super power of choice, i tell them, “to be able to tell what is true.”
in a world where i can find a source to support almost anything that pops out of my ass…ah, the truth would be a beautiful thing to know.
but i think you are right, it is up to me to find it. and i won’t stop looking.

        1. Hmm maybe it’s that you don’t trust yourself enough Bc I thought the same of myself before. But I was always right…it’s riskier I think to say “this is truth”. It’s scary. But if you think it is, Bc truth tingles kinda like lies smell (if that makes sense lol) so watch for the tingle and trust you. (: xoxo

    1. My own “knowing what’s true” superpower 1) is only truly reliable for face-to-face communication and 2) is useless against sociopaths, because they have the “believes own BS while speaking it” power, which blocks my own. :-(

  2. I like this. You’re funny (: I’m not a label so idk what box you’d put me in but I do think the media is fkd. But you’re right…ppls thinking is fkd too. Personal responsibility is a thing. A dying thing…but still a thing. Good job (: xoxo
