On this gloomiest of gloomy inaugural days, these are the songs that are playing in/with my mind…

The historical source of the word “inauguration” stems from the Latin augur, which refers to the rituals of ancient Roman priests seeking to interpret if it was the will of the gods for a public official to be deemed worthy to assume office. WIKIPEDIA

INAUGURATIO was in general the ceremony by which the augurs obtained, or endeavoured to obtain, the sanction of the gods to something which had been decreed by man; in particular, however, it was the ceremony by which things or persons were consecrated to the gods …. If the signs observed by the inaugurating priest were thought favourable, the decree of men had the sanction of the gods, and the inauguratio was completed. 1. Ha – nice. I originally had Psycho Killer on the list but went with BDTH at the last minute. This came up on the stream when I was working out a bit ago and it sums things up for me pretty good.
