Knowing not a thing about Navy life, I fully expected to be lost at best or bored at worst. However once I started reading, I was unable to stop thinking about the well-defined characters and what they would encounter next. Brindley outlines a little bit of all of us at one point or another in our lives within each of the characters. Some I hated, some I loved, one I rooted for. The author’s own experience in the Navy helps to craft a compelling story which renders the reader aboard, as if they too were part of the journey – at sea and of life. The plot continued to turn, and I loved the unexpected ending. Well done! A highly recommended read.
