Following your blogs on DT all the way on the other side of the world in Australia (you may have heard DT hung up on our Prime Minister) I thought this quote from Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure is the best description of politicians like DT.
but man, proud man,
Drest in a little brief authority,
Most ignorant of what he’s most assured,
His glassy essence, like an angry ape,
Plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven
As make the angels weep; who, with our spleens,
Would all themselves laugh mortal.
That’s a fantastic quote. Will have to revisit the play. I always saw DT more as a mad King Lear ranting and blaspheming against the wind. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and share it, Margaret.
